Dear Colleagues,

A new spring of 2014 is coming up. We wish you all great success in your plans and research.

We cordially invite you to the 40th Annual Meeting of Korean Cancer Association (KCA) taking place from 19th to 20th of June at the Lotte Hotel Seoul.

In spirit of KCA fundamental principles that are oriented to multi- and interdisciplinary research and treatment, the program of the meeting is dedicated to disseminate new findings and to promote basic science, transitional research, multi- and interdisciplinary convergent research, and development of new pharmaceuticals and clinical research.

The program will foster the exchange of knowledge and new ideas among members from broad spectrum of research in cancer and related biomedical science; Evaluation for quality of cancer treatment, Tumor hypoxia, Circulating tumor DNA etc.

A multilateral symposium with Korea Genome Organization, the Korean Society of Pathologists, and Korean Society of Gynecologic Oncology and Thyroid and Endocrine Surgeons is planned to be held.

Invited speakers for Plenary Lectures are Dr. Laurence H. Baker (University of Michigan) who led to a vibrant clinical research as a former chair of SWOG, a cancer research cooperative group of the United States, and Dr. Yoshiaki Ito (National University of Singapore) who is an outstanding pioneer in the new tumor suppressor gene, the RUNX, research.

We also invited two supreme Korean Plenary speakers, Prof. Jeong-Sun Seo who is a trailblazing researcher of the Human Genome Project and Prof. Tae Ho Hwang who investigated scientifically the immunity-boosting mechanism by the formation of anticancer antibodies.

In particular, since last year, International Session has been held to promote attendance of foreign researchers. In this session, new unpublished abstracts as well as previously published abstracts in cancer-related international meetings and abstracts with premier research findings will be presented.

We look forward to enthusiastic participation of KCA members and cancer researchers. We wish this annual meeting to be a place for energetic discussions, active communication, and fruitful collaboration between experts in cancer research.
